3rd-5th March 2009 -Earls Court
Ecobuild + Futurebuild 2009

The huge success of Ecobuild
last February confirmed its status as the world's biggest event
dedicated to sustainable design, construction and the built environment.
Running from 3rd to 5th March, Ecobuild 2009 will attract in
excess of 30,000 visitors to London's Earls Court, and the exhibition
will feature over 800 suppliers of sustainable building products
and services. Some of the biggest names in the industry, such
as Rockwool, Saint-Gobain and Wienerberger will be there, along
with new start-ups and grass-roots innovators. Ecobuild's exhibition
has become an unrivalled resource for specifiers and built environment
professionals.
Ecobuild's free seminar programme
will offer practical advice and case study based learning on
all the key topics including low and zero carbon construction,
building regulations, micro-renewables, energy efficiency and
more. The Ecobuild Conference will take place at the same time,
focusing on emerging policy, the latest thinking and best practice
for the sector. Over 500 of the most highly-regarded speakers
will present more than 100 conference and seminar sessions, all
of which are free for visitors to attend.
The inaugural UK Green Building
Council Conference will also take place at Ecobuild for the first
time in 2009, providing the latest updates and thinking on topics
such as the Code for Sustainable Buildings, zero carbon construction,
and the refurbishment of existing homes.
One of the most popular new initiatives, The
Ecobuild Arena, is back for 2009, with a programme that promises
to be even more inspiring and entertaining than before. Hear
from Michael Portillo, Matthew Parris, Dan Cruickshank and others,
with sessions chaired by the best in their field, including James
Naughtie, Roger Harrabin and Mark Lawson. Spontaneous, controversial
and entertaining, the Arena's debates, interviews and keynotes
will cover design, politics, science, philosophy, art and the
environment.
Learning will be brought to
life with over a dozen live attractions at Ecobuild. The immensely
popular Solar City and Cityscape return updated
and improved, alongside Innovate Offsite, Natural Materials,
Eco Paints, Living Roofs, SUDS, and Steel
Ideal. New attractions for 2009 include Inside Insulation,
Clad It, Constructing Concrete and the ambitious
Renew attraction, which will explore sustainable refurbishment
solutions for the UK's existing buildings.
Bill Dunster's ZEDfactory is
also back at Ecobuild 2009, this time with the LandARK 'eco cabin'.
Visitors to Ecobuild will get to view a fully-functioning example
of the 30m unit, which is claimed to be entirely self-sustaining.
Always
committed to supporting innovators and entrepreneurs, Ecobuild
2009 will see the popular Green Shoots area returning,
plus three new pavilions dedicated to small businesses and individuals.
The Eco Interiors, Stone Zone and Timber Works
pavilions will give start-ups and small organisations working
within the commercial interiors, stone and timber sectors a platform
from which to demonstrate the breadth of innovative products,
techniques and applications available.
Ecobuild 2009 will host a range
of international pavilions, including representations from France,
Austria, Denmark and Canada.
Running alongside Ecobuild,
Futurebuild is the UK's leading event for everything that's new
in construction. Focusing on the key concerns of innovation,
efficiency and profitability, Futurebuild will showcase the leading
suppliers of building structures, finishes and services
Innovate Offsite at Futurebuild
will feature the largest display of offsite solutions in the
UK, including specialists Roger Bullivant, who will be giving
daily demonstrations of SystemFirst - a fast, eco-friendly and
Code Level 6 compliant foundation solution. A completed Eco
Canopy classroom designed by Bryden Wood will provide the venue
for a series of free offsite seminars by participating suppliers,
including Ruukki, Verbus, NG Bailey, Tarmac, Hemway Podit and
Bryden Wood.
